1 borrowed stone, 2 unknowing birds
In November 2016, 9 Singapore armoured personnel carrier (Terrex) on-route from Taiwan back to Singapore, were seized by the Hong Kong authority. Incidentally, this drew great attention on international media and uncovers the ‘open secret’ — Singapore leases land from Taiwan for military training purposes due to Singapores' lack of land resource. After two months of delay, the vehicles were returned to Singapore without any explanation.
This installation was executed at Taipei Treasure Hill's Japanese Imperial bomb shelter that is approximately the size of a Terrex. It is an attempt to response to geopolitical tensions, by a Singapore ex-national serviceman, who has been to Taiwan for military training on numerous occasions.
